Who we are

Fiiilm is operated by Directsia, Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation, at 17337 Ventura Blvd STE 100, Encino, CA 91316, USA. TIN 99-4492579. For any privacy question, write to hey@directsia.com.

What we collect

Your email address. Required to create an account and sign in. We use passwordless authentication — we send a one-time code to your address instead of storing a password.

Content you create. Folders, the people and titles you save into them, tags, and private notes.

Basic usage data. Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash and error reports. We use this to fix bugs and keep the app stable.

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers. We do not use behavioural analytics and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Film and person data

Information about films, people, and their filmographies is retrieved from The Movie Database (TMDB) API. We do not create, control, or verify that data. When you search in Fiiilm, your query is sent to TMDB in order to return results. TMDB's own privacy terms apply to that exchange: https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Sharing

Your folders and notes are private to your account by default.

Share links. When you generate a share link, anyone holding that link can view the contents of that folder without signing in. Your private notes are not included in a shared view. A link stays active until you revoke it. Treat share links as public — we cannot control who they are forwarded to.

Service providers.

We use the following third parties to run the service:

  • netcup GmbH (Germany) — server infrastructure and database storage
  • Google LLC (Gmail) — delivery of one-time sign-in codes and support correspondence
  • Apple Inc. — app distribution and, where enabled, App Store analytics

Crash and error reports are processed on our own infrastructure. We do not use a third-party analytics provider.

These providers process data only on our instructions.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We will disclose data if legally required to do so, and will notify you unless prohibited by law.

Where your data is processed

We are a US company. Our servers are located in Germany, operated by netcup GmbH. Depending on the operation, your data may be processed in either the European Union or the United States.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with data transfer rules, transfers to the United States are covered by [the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which we are certified and which can be verified at dataprivacyframework.gov / the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, which we have in place]. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by writing to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, your folders, notes, and profile are permanently deleted within 30 days. Backups containing your data are overwritten within 90 days. Aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics may be retained.

Support emails are kept for 12 months.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Delete your account and its contents
  • Export your folders in a portable format
  • Stop processing your data for a particular purpose

Write to hey@directsia.com from your registered address. We respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights — including the right to object to processing, to withdraw consent, or to complain to a data protection authority. We honor these regardless of your location. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority; a list is available at edpb.europa.eu.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to correct it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the service.

Deleting your account.

Write to hey@directsia.com from your registered address and we will delete your account, folders, and notes. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to team members who need it. Because we use one-time codes rather than passwords, there is no password of yours for us to lose.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

Children

Fiiilm is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16, or under 13 in the United States as defined by COPPA. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you by email before it takes effect.

Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 July 2026

Agreement

These terms are between you and Directsia, Inc. ("we," "us"). By using Fiiilm, you accept them. If you don't, don't use the app.

What Fiiilm is

A personal reference tool for organizing information about film industry professionals. You search a public film database, save people and titles into folders, add private notes, and share read-only links.

Fiiilm is not a hiring platform, an agency, or a marketplace. We do not represent anyone, broker work, verify identities, or facilitate transactions. Nothing in the app is an endorsement of any person by us or by them.

Pricing

Fiiilm is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features or plans in the future. If we do, we will tell you before any charge applies, and existing free functionality will not be withdrawn without reasonable notice. Any purchase will be made through Apple and governed by Apple's terms in addition to these.

Your account

You need a valid email address. One account per person. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your email secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you.

You must be at least 16 years old.

Your content

Your folders, tags, and notes belong to you. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content back to you and to anyone you share it with.

You're responsible for what you write. Don't put anything in a note that's unlawful, defamatory, or that you have no right to record about another person. Notes about identifiable people may make you a data controller under applicable privacy law — that's on you, not us.

Third-party data

Information about films and people comes from The Movie Database (TMDB). We do not create, verify, or control it. It may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Do not rely on it for hiring, contracting, or any decision with consequences without independently confirming it.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Your use of TMDB-sourced content is also subject to TMDB's terms: https://www.themoviedb.org/terms-of-use

Names, images, and filmographies of real people are displayed for reference. Their appearance in Fiiilm does not imply any relationship with, or endorsement of, us or you.

Share links

A share link makes that folder viewable to anyone who has it, with no sign-in. You choose who to send it to and you're responsible for what happens after. We do not monitor shared content. You can revoke a link at any time.

What you may not do

  • Scrape, bulk-export, or systematically harvest data from the app
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute TMDB content obtained through Fiiilm
  • Reverse engineer the app or attempt to access systems you're not authorized to
  • Use the app to harass, stalk, or build profiles for those purposes
  • Use automated means to create accounts or generate requests at scale
  • Impersonate anyone

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section, without notice where the breach is serious.

Our rights

The app, its design, name, and code are ours. These terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app. Nothing more transfers.

Availability

We provide Fiiilm as it is. We don't guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your folders.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we provide the app without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of third-party data.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or decisions made in reliance on information in the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to USD 100.

Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by writing to hey@directsia.com. We may terminate your access if you breach these terms. On termination, your content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or to address any claim about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

US legal

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo, and that you are not on any US government restricted-party list.

If you are a US government end user, the app is a "commercial item" as defined in 48 C.F.R. §2.101, and your rights are limited to those granted to all other users under these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Fiiilm after that means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where local law grants it. EU consumers may also use the online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
